Western Slope Obituaries: Justin James Nye; Winona Bell Morgan; Floriene H. Rait; Adam Edward White

Justin James Nye, of Grand Junction, Colo., lost his valiant battle with cancer on Jan. 30, 2009.

Devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, he was born to James R. and Carol S. Nye on March 27, 1976. In 1994, Justin graduated from Fruita Monument High School, and also received his Eagle Scout Award.

He was an avid cyclist and loved to fish, hunt, play basketball, golf and ski. He coached his older brother, Troy in Special Olympics basketball.

Justin served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paris, France.

On June 5, 1998, Justin married Emilee Johnson. He served actively in his church organizations throughout his life. Always kind-hearted, he was a dedicated friend to all and willing to help and serve others.

Working for The Bike Shop as a teen only fueled his love for bikes. He currently was a financial services professional for New York Life.

Justin is survived by his wife, Emilee Johnson Nye; his two-year old twins, Renn Justin Nye and Kylee Belle Nye; parents, James R. and Carol S. Nye, Grand Junction; brothers, Troy J. Nye and Travis R. Nye and wife Colleen of Grand Junction, and his sister, Natalie Nye of Littleton, Colo. He also has many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Services were held in Grand Junction on Feb. 4. Interment took place at the New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, Colo.
