After lifelong years in the cattle business, Werner and Ginger Lengacher sold their cattle operation. It was a bittersweet conclusion to what many consider a successful run at a commercial Hereford cattle operation. Werner and Ginger decided after working hard their entire lives, and their bodies taking the toll, to retire and move on.

This time of year Werner and Ginger usually send just the spring calves on the trucks, but this time, they sent the cows and bulls. Two cows were kept behind, one due to calve in the spring, and “One Horn,” Werner’s sidekick.
