Edward Marker, 95, of Minatare died Jan. 14, 2011, at Regional West Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Scottsbluff, to Henry and Mary (Leis) Marker.

He married Emma Sagel on March 14, 1937, at the Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff.

He farmed at Bayard, Scottsbluff and Minatare until 1971 when he sold the farm and moved to Minatare.

He bought Ken Grier Hardware and there operated Marker and Sons Hardware until 1981. He then worked at Lockwood’s until the age of 71.

Survivors include his wife Emma; daughter, Sylvia Marker; sons, Monty Marker and Henry Marker; sister, Elsie Welsch; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
