Richard L. Haney, 81, of North Platte, died May 31, 2011, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 16, 1930, to Robert and Lois (Longmore) Haney at Callaway.
In 1950, he graduated from North Platte High School and served in the United States Air Force in 1952.
He married Joyce Black and lived in York where he was a meat inspector for the USDA for 20 years. He later moved to North Platte and was united in marriage to Connie Rivera on Oct. 6, 1990, in North Platte.
He was employed by the Red Cross as a courier.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of North Platte; two sons, Ricky (Tamara) Haney of Meridian, Idaho, and Blake (Becky) Haney of Westminister, Colo.; two daughters, Jadeen (Deland) Gillam of Lincoln, and Christy Haney of Thornton, Colo.; five stepsons, Steve Rivera of Denver, Colo., Tom (Nancy) Rivera, David Rivera, Larry (Ginger) Rivera and Gilbert (Mary) Rivera, all of North Platte; a brother, Charles (Gladys) Haney of North Platte; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce in 1989 and a brother.
