10 c. tart apples, peeled and sliced

1/3 c. sugar

2 Tbsp. cornstarch

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg

Place apples in 2-1/2 qt. microwave-safe bowl. Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples and toss to coat. Dot with butter. Cover and microwave on high for 15 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring every 5 minutes. Spoon over bread pudding and pour caramel ice cream topping over apples.
