Honey Cream Apple Pie

1/2 c. sour cream

3/4 c. honey

1/4 t. salt

1/4 t. cinnamon

1/2 t. nutmeg

6 large apples sliced thin (6 c.)

Pastry for 2 crust pie

Combine sour cream, honey, salt and spices. Add apples and mix well.

Place ingredients in pie shell. Cover with crust and flute edges of crust.

Bake at 425 degrees for 40-45 mins.

Apple Bread for Bread

2 1/4 t. active dry yeast

3 c. bread flour

1 t. cinnamon

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

2 Tbsp. butter

1 t. salt

1 1/4 c. apple cider

Place in bread machine pan per manufacturer’s directions.

Makes a 1 1/2 lb. loaf.

Apple Jelly Chicken

4 boneless chicken breasts

1/2 c. butter

2 Tbsp. apple jelly

1/2 c. apple cider



Place chicken under broiler or grill. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 10 mins., turning once.

Meanwhile, combine butter, jelly and apple cider in a saucepan; heat and stir over medium heat until jelly melts.

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brush mixture over chicken. Broil or grill for one minute, turn.

Brush jelly mixture over chicken, again cook for one minute. Turn and repeat process.

Makes 4 serving.

Pork Chops and Apples

6 pork chops

3 to 4 unpeeled apples, cored and sliced

1/4 c. brown sugar

1/2 t. cinnamon

2 Tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brown chops on both sides in hot fat. Place apples in greased baking dish; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.

Top with pork chops; cover. Bake for 1 hour and 30 mins.

Makes 6 servings.

Apple Empanadas (fruit pies)

2 c. flour

2 Tbsp. sugar

1/2 t. salt

2 Tbsp. butter

1 egg yolk

1/2 c. water

Apple fruit filling (or any other fruit filling)

Mix flour, sugar and salt. Gradually add and mix in butter, egg yolk and water. Knead until springy. Divide in half and keep one portion covered while using other. Make or buy fruit filling.

Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares or roll in rounds. Place 1/2 Tbsp. filling in middle of each square and fold over dough, then seal and bake 15 mins. at 400 degrees.

Apple Salad


3 apples, diced

1/2 c. celery, diced

1/2 c. chopped walnuts

1/2 c. crushed pineapple, drained

1 c. small marshmallows


1/2 c. sugar

2 Tbsp. flour

2 Tbsp. vinegar

1 t. vanilla

1 Tbsp butter

1 c. water

Mix all ingredients for the salad together in a bowl.

Mix dressing ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Boil 1 min.

Cool and combine with apple mixture.
