Resources for landowners seminar April 16

Larimer County Department of Natural Resources

Weeds, insects and drought, oh my! Landowners face many challenges in stewarding their properties, but never fear, assistance is available!

The Larimer County Open Lands Program is hosting a seminar for landowners providing them the opportunity to hear from and interact with natural resources professionals regarding managing private lands.

Representatives from the following agencies will be in attendance:

Natural Resources Conservation Service, Colorado State University Cooperative Extension, Colorado State Forest Service, Colorado Division of Wildlife, Larimer County Weed District, and Larimer County Open Lands Program. Topics will include: weed management, native vegetation restoration, drought management, and other salient issues relevant to small and large scale landowners, and conservation/clustered development homeowners’ associations.

A choice of one of two optional field trips will be offered in the afternoon: 1) a private property demonstrating wildlife habitat projects, irrigation and lateral ditch functioning, and farming practices; 2) an open space owned by a homeowners association, featuring native plant restoration and wildlife habitat improvement projects.

Field trips will provide specific examples of how agencies have assisted private landowners in achieving land management goals. Space is limited, register today!
