Rocky Mountain Ag Briefs 5-2-11

Judging started last week in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Recipes for Healthy Kids competition. Fifteen recipes were chosen out of 340 entries to be semi-finalists. Harold S. Winograd K-8 School Mission from Greeley, Colo., was a semi-finalist. The Chic’ Penne recipe that was submitted was chosen as to be in the top five of the whole grains category. Three recipes out of the 15 will be chosen as finalists to compete in a national cook-off event this summer. A cookbook will be printed with the top ten recipes in each category.
