We have a winner!
We received four entries for last month’s mystery photo!
Our winner, Jean Anderson of Greeley, Colo., identified the object as a ballot box used to vote for membership in a secret organization. Black and white balls were placed in the tray. As the member passed the box he would select either a white or a black ball and insert it into the hole in the covered section. When the voting was done the hinged top to the box was opened. If there was a black ball in the box the prospective member was “Black Balled.”
G.M. “Casey” Cameron of Hemet, Calif., sent in the object.
Congratulations to Jean Anderson and thanks to G.M. “Casey” Cameron for sharing this mysterious photo with our readers.
