Rocky Mountain Obituaries 2-1-10

Senobia May Furnish, 77, of Yuma, Colo., passed away Jan. 4, 2010.

She was born April 10, 1932 in Francis, Okla., to Herbert and Mary (Smith) Price.

On Dec. 7, 1949, she married Gerald Furnish in Amarillo, Texas. They were married almost 50 years until Gerald passed away in March of 1999. In this Union three children were born; son Terry, daughter Debra and son Tim.

Through her years, Senobia was most of all a caring and loving mother. She took on all the tasks of being a rancher’s wife, cooking wonderful meals and baked goods not only for the family, but for the crew of men that worked at the ranch. She was a tireless homemaker who also took care of big gardens, flowers, and landscaped the yards. She loved every minute of it. Busy as she was, she always made time and took interest in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities, sports, music and rodeos. It did not matter what it was, she was their biggest fan. She enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies on TV, loved horse racing, playing the lottery and occasional trips to play the slot machines. She was also particularly fond of bird watching.

She is survived by her son Terry Furnish and wife Briana of Laird, Colo., daughter Debra Miller and husband Bernie of Vona, Colo., and son Tim Furnish of Wray, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Jamie Robinson and husband Jeremy of Vona, Colo., Audrey Rock and husband Alex of Wray, Colo., Chelsea and Delaney Furnish of Kersey, Colo., Logan and Trewit Furnish of Wray, Colo., and Kaitlin and Tristan Furnish of Laird, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren, Cody, Clay and Caddis Robinson of Vona, Colo.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Herbert and Mary Price, husband Gerald Furnish, brothers Kenneth, John and Don Price and sister, Emma Jean Price.
