Melba Creager, 83, passed away March 28, 2011, at Goshen Care Center in Torrington, Wyo.

She was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Mountain View, the daughter of Roy Cecil and Hilda (Polson) Taylor. She was raised on the family ranch and graduated from Mountain View High School.

She attended the University of Wyoming where she met Jack Creager. They were married March 6, 1947, at Saint Matthew’s Cathedral in Laramie, Wyo. They moved to Casper, Wyo., in 1950 and then to Glenrock in 1963, where she resided until entering the Goshen Care Center.

She and her husband traveled to attend the USS Oklahoma City reunions each year.

Melba was a member of the Episcopal Guild, TOPS and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Melba is survived by her children, Barb (Don) Greider of Farmington, N.M., Chris (Kim) Swanson of Indiana, Penn., and Dan Creager of Glenrock, Wyo.; brother Roger Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren Brandy Swanson, Kandi Swanson, Ryan Swanson, Brett (Brenda) Manus, Jay (Lori) Manus, Vera (Brian) Lacey, April (Carl) Hunter, Ray Rushton and Dawn; 12 great-grandchildren; and four godchildren.
