Patricia N. Van Hare, 76, of Greeley, Colo., passed away May 27, 2010 at her home.

She was born June 13, 1933 in Greeley, Colo., to Walter H. and Agnes Marie (Flynn) Nesom. She was a member of St. Nicholas as a child and was baptized there. She was raised and educated in Gilcrest, Colo., and in 1951, graduated from Gilcrest High School. She received her Teaching Degree in 1955 from Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colo. She taught at Whittier Elementary School in Denver, Colo.

Patricia married Robert E. Van Hare on June 22, 1957 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Platteville., Colo. After their marriage, they moved to Carlsbad, N.M., for a year and then returned to Colorado in 1960. Together with her father, Patricia and Robert ran two farms near Gilcrest, Colo., and raised cattle. She and her husband also loved to square dance and were members of the Merry Mixers. After Robert’s death on August 23, 1970, Patricia continued on the farm and was totally devoted to raising her family. She volunteered at the school and with the Valley High School Band. She worked at Milliken Early Potato Association for 10 years as the Office Manager.

She was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was involved with the Altar and Rosary Society, Banner Brigade and served on the Parish Council. Patricia moved to Greeley, Colo., in 2001, and was currently a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

She read over 1,800 novels, the theater was very important to her. She attended many performances at the Buell Theatre, Little Theatre of the Rockies and Union Colony Civic Center. She traveled to over 40 different countries as well as visiting the majority of the U.S. with numerous friends. She loved to golf and was very active in the Greeley Recreation Center.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri Van Hare and husband Larry Levitt of Oakland, Calif., and Kelli Christian and husband Allen of St. Louis, Mo.; sons, Greg Van Hare and wife Michelle of Loveland, Colo., Mark Van Hare and wife Barb of Denver, Colo., and Bob Van Hare and wife Linda of Bellevue, Wash.; 13 grandchildren, Kirsten, Taylor, Jason, Nicholas, Drew, Eric, Michael, Jordan, Mayachelle, Casey, Sarah, Tyler and Ian.
