Doris Ann Hoff, 84, of Bellvue, Colo., passed away June 24, 2011 at home with her husband Gerald at her side.

She was born May 16, 1927 to Charles Jefferson and Ruth Marie Huntzinger at their homestead near Douglas, Wyo. She attended grade school and graduated in 1945 from Douglas High School. After high school, Doris traveled to Occidental, Calif., to support the war effort after which she attended Barnes School of business in Denver, Colo. In January, 1948, Gerald Hoff met Doris Ann on a blind date arranged by his brother, George Hoff, at the Denver Stock Show. One year later on January 15, 1949, their marriage took place during the blizzard of ’49 in Douglas, Wyo. Their early life together included ranching on Fish Creek in Virginia Dale, Colo. In 1958 they moved to Bellvue, Colo. During the 62 year marriage, Doris and Gerald had three sons, Charles Hoff of Bellvue, Colo., Karl Hoff of Bellvue, Colo., and Shawn Hoff of Windsor, Colo.

At her retirement she was secretary to the Chairman of the CSU Art Department. Her life was committed to her family. Her special interests included being a woman of faith, expressing her Swedish Heritage and supporting other women in her Wednesday afternoon stitch group.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to her care giving team, private caregivers, ICON Home Health, Visiting Angels and Front Range Hospice.

She is survived by husband, Gerald; brothers Carl Huntzinger and John Huntzinger; sons, Charles (Sara), Karl (Cindy), Shawn (Pam); grandchildren, Scott Beckman, Anna Hoff, Stephanie BeDan, Matthew Hoff, Blair Hoff and Katelyn Hoff; seven great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Maurer; and her special cousin Annie Gray.
