Harold Ray Schwartzkopf, 56, of Kersey, Colo., passed away August 11, 2009.

He was born December 17, 1952 in Torrington, Wyo., to Robert and Helen (Laughlin) Schwartzkopf. He grew up farming in Torrington. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1972.

On September 3, 1984 he married Teri Pesicka in Casper, Wyo.

A few years after high school he found his career in trucking. He spent 33 years behind the wheel of tankers, refrigerated produce and dry van, but especially enjoyed hauling cattle. Harold’s hobby was buying, restoring and driving antique tractors. He could often be seen on one of his tractors with one of his grandchildren riding along. He had a genuine love for people and could walk into a restaurant and before long would have talked with everyone there.

He is survived by his wife, Teri Schwartzkopf of Kersey, Colo.; daughter, Billie Jo Schott and husband Jay of Greeley, Colo.; sons, Justin Schwartzkopf and wife Kim of Douglas, Wyo., K.W. Schwartzkopf of Dickinson, N.D., Chris Carpenter and wife Crystal of Casper, Wyo., Rob Carpenter of Johnstown, Colo.; parents, Robert and Janice Schwartzkopf of Douglas, Wyo., Helen Laughlin of Torrington, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Ruthie Clothier of Aiken, S. C., Sally Brunkow of Scottsbluff, Neb., and brother, Robert Schwartzkopf of Douglas, Wyo.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
