Helen Johnson, 93, of Loveland, Colo., passed away August 12, 2010.

She was born on January 26, 1917 in Arcadia, Neb., to Otto Eugene and Margaret Ellen (Brown) Aufrecht. Helen lived in Nebraska and graduated from Big Springs High School in 1935. She attended college in Kearney, Neb. Since 1946 she lived in Denver, Greeley and Loveland, Colo.

She was a teacher in a one room school house in Nebraska, an insurance and real estate agent and owned a Travel Lodge in Denver, Colo. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Loveland, Colo. Helen made banana bread for everyone! She liked to knit, crochet, paint and play the piano and organ.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Jean Ambrosio and husband Dick of Loveland, Colo.; two step-children, Jeanne Behr and Richard Finnie; sister Bertha Louise Beattie, Eunice M. (Holden) Uhrich; three grandchildren, Del Ambrosio and wife Diane, Debbie Nathan and husband Mike, Deanna Schindler and husband John; eight great-grandchildren, Richard Ambrosio and wife Emily, Matthew Nathan, Andrew Ambrosio, Melissa Fischer and husband Scott, Marcus Nathan and wife Jill, Daniel Ambrosio, Mitchell Nathan, Ashley Adams; two great-great-grandchildren, Carter Ambrosio, Alyson Ambrosio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Tillman, Richard Finnie, Donald Barnett, Ellsworth Johnson.

Memorial services were held August 19, 2010.
