Anna Carolina Edwards, 96, of Milliken, Colo., passed away at her home on September 4, 2010.

Anna was born March 18, 1914 in Cedar Rapids, Neb., to Henry and Rignald “Carrie” (Hestikind) Rieken. She graduated from Albion High School in 1932. She married Herschel O. Edwards. They later divorced. Anna worked various jobs and retired from Dale Electronics in Columbus, Neb., in 1976.

Her hobby and love was quilting. She made in excess of 100 quilts. She also sewed and was always ready to alter or sew a seam for a neighbor. Anna enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. The love of her life was her children and grandchildren. She loved the family gatherings that included a lot of little ones around to tease, hug and hold.



She is survived by daughters, Mary (Dayle) Stuefer of Lincoln, Neb., Shirley (Don) Townley of Eustace, Texas, Sharon (John) Kielian of Milliken, Colo., Trudy (Allan) Carpenter of Wichita, Kan.; son-in-law, Bill Bird of Columbus, Neb.; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Joyce Taylor, Glenda Kilburn, Darlene Latimer, Connie Bird; infant son, Richard Edwards; four sisters; and two brothers.



Memorial services were held September 10, 2010, at Adamson Chapel in Greeley, Colo.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
