1-1/2 c. Shortening, softened

2 c. Brown sugar, packed

2 Eggs

1/2 c. Honey

4-1/2 c. Flour

4 t. Soda

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together shortening, brown sugar, eggs and honey. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt. Add dry ingredients to shortening mixture. Chill for 2 hours or overnight. Roll teaspoonfuls of chilled dough into balls. Roll balls in granulated sugar and set on baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set but not hard. Cool on wire rack.
