The 2008 Festival of Trees in Saratoga, Wyoming on Friday, December 5th again provided a great kick-off for the holiday season. Forty-one holiday entries ranging from decorated trees and wreaths to a lovely table setting and an assortment of gift baskets were donated by individuals, groups, and businesses and displayed for the public to enjoy before being auctioned.

The auction sponsored by the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Saratoga Museum, and Platte Valley Community Center brought a total of $9,600. The proceeds from this year’s annual event benefited the Saratoga and Encampment Senior Centers as well as the Chamber, Museum, & PVCC.

“Santa’s Sanctuary” donated by the Saratoga Spa & Resort brought the high bid of $850 and included a stay with accompanying recreational benefits at the Resort. The second highest bid of $800 went for “Fly Fishing Wyoming” donated by Hack’s Tackle and Outfitters and included a decorated tree and flying fishing equipment.

The many other lovely donations will also provide much enjoyment for the purchasers, and well as inspiration for ideas for gifts and decorating for others in attendance.
