David “Dave” Jackson, 49

June 15, 1967-Nov. 20, 2016

Residence: Scottsbluff, Neb.

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Romans 12:18

David “Dave” Jackson, 49, of Scottsbluff, was abruptly taken from us on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016.

Dave was born to Richard and Charlotte (Kreiling) Jackson on June 15, 1967 and was the youngest of four children. Dave was the second child to be born at the new hospital in Scottsbluff. Dave married Jenni (Molle) on July 7, 1985. To this union, two sons were born, Justin (Kate) of Lyman, and Dustin of the home.

Dave joined the Army National Guard in 1985 and served until 1993. He completed his training in Fort Jackson, S.C. and Fort Gordon, Ga. Dave was a devoted family man, great friend and took great pride in his family and friends.

Dave loved to compete and always strived to push harder than his competitors. There was no challenge that scared him and he was always up for something new. Dave never met a stranger and worked hard every day to make the world a better place. He was always quick witted and eager to bring a smile to the room. He and Jenni were married for 31 years.

Dave worked on many careers from barbed wire to barrier and hoof to hook. This led him to his business, Nod Big Brand. He began riding horses at 2 years old and had been riding ever since. Riding and raising horses was his passion but it ranked second behind Nod Big Brand. As an avid fan of rodeo, he entered his first calf riding at age of 5 and continued riding rough stock until his early 20’s. Then he switched ends of the arena and began team roping. He roped both ends but preferred to heel.

Dave is survived by his wife, sons, and grandson.

A celebration of Dave’s Life was held at the Mitchell Event Center in Mitchell, Neb. on Nov. 26, 2016. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Autism or 600 University Street, Suite 1000, Seattle, Wash. 98101 in Dave’s name. ❖
