Trump on video says he will quit TPP

President-elect Donald Trump Nov. 21 said in a video he will withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership on his first day in office.

“I am going to issue our notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a potential disaster for our country. Instead, we will negotiate fair bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto American shores,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who met with Trump recently, said that “the TPP would be meaningless without the United States,” Fortune reported.
