USDA terminates Smithfield trade aid contract

The Agriculture Department has terminated a contract to buy foods from Smithfield, the Chinese-owned pork producer, as part of the Trump administration’s trade aid package, Reuters reported. Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has been particularly critical of the fact that Smithfield was to receive the aid.
