Mary Margaret Milner
Mary Daniels, 59, of Paonia, Colo., passed away September 4, 2013 at Delta County Memorial hospital.
Mary Margaret Milner was born on October 19, 1953 to Robert and Joan (Schultz) Milner at Hanover, Kansas.
Mary spent her childhood and attended school in Clayton, KS. She spent her senior year of high school in Paonia, graduating with the class of 1971. She has lived in Paonia since 1970, with the exception of a very few years in Grand Junction Colo.
Mary Milner and Floyd Daniels were married on December 11, 1972 at Paonia.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia. Her grandchildren and children were very important to her. She also enjoyed gardening, teaching children and volunteering at school and daycare centers.
Mary is survived by her husband Floyd Daniels of Paonia, Colo., her son; Curtis and wife Christina Daniels, her daughter; Cristy Daniels, all of Paonia, Colo., her brothers; John “Batman” Milner of Norton, Kan., Richard “Tad” Milner, Ed (Dawn) Milner, Gregory “Pete” Milner, Mark Milner, all of Paonia, Colo., her sisters; Melinda and husband Enis Ruble of Hotchkiss, Colo., Patricia and husband Jay Carr of Grand Junction, Colo., Annette Milner., of Paonia, Colo., Janis Milner of Grand Junction. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren.
Services were held at Paonia Town Park September 7, 2013. ❖
Byron Head, 50, passed away September 9, 2013.
Byron was born on December 28, 1963 to Larry and Ruth Head at Craig, Colo.
Byron attended schools in Montrose, Clifton, Fruita and graduated from Palisade High School in 1983. Byron attended DIT in Denver, Colorado and graduated as a certified Auto and Diesel Mechanic. He apprenticed at Rider Trucking Co working on the big 18 wheelers which he was very proud of.
While he was at DIT, Byron had the first of many symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis and that began Byron’s 30 year battle with it.
In 1988, Byron married Jennifer Jo Taylor in Clifton, Colorado. To that union three children came: David, Nathan and Nikki. This marriage ended in divorce.
Byron is survived by his children: David (Cari) Head of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Nathan (Nikki) Head of Blackton, Iowa and Nikki (Jason) Baker of Eagleville, Mo.; parents, Larry and Ruth Head of Hotchkiss, Colo.; two brothers: Wayne (Jamie) Head of Delta, Colo., and Lorin (Lytia) Head of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren: Cheyenne and Montana Baker and Hunter Head; nine nephews and nieces: Daniel, Levi and Matt Head; Anika, Janae, Zoey, Zack, Benjamin and William Head.
Services were held September 13, 2013 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colo. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford, Colo,
