Louis C. King, 71, of Fruita, Colo., passed away September 18, 2009 surrounded by his family, after a long, brave battle with cancer.
He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on September 8, 1938.
He worked all over the world in the construction business, including Alaska and Saudi Arabia.
He spent four years in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the Santa Ana, Calif., unified school district as a building inspector to Fruita, Colo.
He loved hunting and fishing. His happiest moments were spent cooking big meals for family gatherings.
Lou was the most wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world to begin a new journey with our heavenly Father. Lou will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have been in
He is survived by his wife, Wanda J. King of Fruita, Colo.; three sons, Michael (Mary) Martin of Calif., Michael (Paula) King and Raymond King both of Md.; daughter, Doreena (Pat) Hutchison of Grand Juntion, Colo.; two sisters, Norma (Larry) Anderson of Okla., and Marguerite (Chuck) Seitler of Utah; brother, Robert (Sandra) King of Calif.; grandchildren, Lisa, Amber, Brittany, Rhiannon, Patrick, Christina, Ashley, Jagger, Jon Michael, Paul, Melanie, Jeri Ann, Amanda and Ray Jr.; great-grandchildren, Michael, Dallas, Trevyn, Trey, Louis, Dominic and Braedyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randall.
