Eva D. LaValley, 75, of Paonia, Colo., passed away October 20, 2010 at Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colo.

Eva Deon Ide was born July 20, 1935 in Price, Utah, to the late Lucian and Florence Barbara (Webb) Ide. She spent her childhood in Price, Utah, and Wellington, Utah, graduating from Price High School in Price, Utah.

On April 4, 1954, Eva married James K. LaValley in Wellington, Utah. Together, they lived in Garfield, Ark., for 31 years then moved to Paonia, Colo., where they have resided for the past two years.

Eva enjoyed doing word search puzzles and reading. She was an animal lover, raising cockatiels and sheep. She also enjoyed gardening, embroidery and sewing. Eva was a great, great cook when she cooked. Eva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paonia, Colo.

She is survived by her husband, James K. LaValley of Paonia, Colo.; three daughters Karla Archer and spouse, Bob of Collbran, Colo., Beverly Perla and spouse, Joe of Paonia, Colo., and Carlene Martinez of Springdale, Ark.; four sisters Luella Johnson of Rifle, Colo., Audrey Drake and spouse, Edwin of Mesquite, Texas, Bonnie Duncan and spouse, David of Paonia, Colo., and Patricia Willson and spouse, Mike of Ferron, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian and Florence Ide; two sons Theodore “Teddy” and Craig LaValley; and a brother, James Frank Ide.

Memorial services were held October 23, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paonia, Colo.

Interment followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia, Colo.
