David Lee Soker

David Lee Soker, 65, passed away January 28, 2013 with his two daughters and sister at his side.

Dave was a world traveler, living throughout the United States, and residing in Palisade, Colo., for the last 12 plus years.

He was an avid out-doors-man, enjoying camping, fishing, and hunting.

He was an active member in the community. Some of his many activities included helping with the River Front Commission, Child and Migrant Services, and Catholic Outreach.

Dave worked the majority of his life with the Fish and Wildlife Services. He also gained life experiences by working in the Navy, Army, logging, and even surveying roads outside of Yellowstone.

Dave had an amazing artistic ability that he showed through his photography, drawing, and stained glass.

Per Dave’s request, there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Outreach in Dave’s name.

The family will be hosting a celebration of Dave’s life this summer.

Kenneth Charles Wagner

Kenneth Charles Wagner, 84, passed away January 31, 2013 at Delta County Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 18, 1928 to Charles Eugene and Margeret Olive (Loney) Wagner at Denver, Colo. He grew up in Craig, Colo., Rifle, Colo., and Denver, Colo., graduating from Denver’s South High School in 1946.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, Colo. He was also a member of NRA and Ducks Unlimited. He was a volunteer with the Department of Wildlife helping with animal rescue, and tagging and banding different wildlife. He worked as a Game Warden for the Colorado Department of Game and Fish for 39 years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and truly loved his dogs. He was responsible for getting Big Horn sheep into Colorado. He worked with the Canadian government in banding ducks.

He is survived by his son, Jon-Michael Grebenc and his wife, Nancy of Broomfield, Colo.; three daughters, Helen Cook and her husband Jake of Raytown, Mo., Marjorie Boyce and her husband Mark of Paonia, Colo., and Michelle Jones and her husband Frank of Virginia; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held February 6, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, Colo.

Glendene Louise Breshears

Glendene Louise Breshears, 92, passed away January 25, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October I l, 1920, in Magnet, Texas, to Glen E. St. John and Vera Bell St. John. She had a sister, Eula May, who passed away in infancy, and two brothers, William (Dorothy) and Lawrence (Eva Belle).

She married Paul E. Breshears on December 22, 194l. They had two children, Paul E Breshears Jr., and Linda Berry. With her husband serving in the military, she raised their children, while working in the fruit fields and orchards and helping her widowed mother in Grand Valley, Colo.

Upon Paul’s discharge, they settled on Morrisiana Mesa, Colo. Paul was called back into service during the Korean War. After his return, the family moved to Rangely, Colo., in 1952, where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Glendene was most proud of her ability as a bookkeeper, and worked several jobs doing this, until she purchased the H & R Block franchise, doing taxes, which she managed until she retired.

She always had a large vegetable garden, and canned the produce it provided. She kept her friends and family warm with her crocheted afghans. She always had a dog (or two or three) which she loved dearly. She enjoyed camping and going to Oklahoma to visit family there.

One of her biggest thrills was when her brother, Lawrence took her to Canada on a fishing trip, and she caught the biggest fish.

She is survived by her son, Paul E. Jr. (Sharon); daughter, Linda, and honorary daughter, Jean E. Smith; her grandchildren, Curtis Kinney (Dee), Roy Kinney (Shanna), Paul Eugene Breshears, Peggy Thompson, Jim Walston (Monica), Marty Walston, Jennifer Forbis (Koy), Aimee (Ken) Brown, Tom Kinney, and Wayne (Mareanne); l5 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; a sister-in-law, Eva Belle St. John, and husband, Paul.

Memorial services were held February 1, 2013 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colo.

Interment was at the Veterans Cemetery.
