Western Slope Obituaries 7-5-10

Hazel M. Frezieres, 77, of Fruita, Colo., passed away June 21, 2010 at St Mary’s Hospital due to a stroke.

She was born in McCook, Neb., to Robert and Vera (Pate) Kennedy where she spent her childhood and graduated from McCook High School.

On August 19, 1952 she married Gerald Jaeger. They resided in Pensacola, Fla., before moving to Grand Junction, Colo.



On December 14, 1968 she married John Frezieres and together they have lived on their farm North of Fruita, Colo., for the past 41 years.

Hazel was a secretary for the 4-H Extension Office and CSU Diagnostic Lab until her retirement in 1986. She also owned and operated the Fruita Clothing Store for a short period.



Hazel enjoyed gardening, socializing and watching her daily soap operas with her dog Zack. But most of all she enjoyed doing for others and especially enjoyed making her “No Bake Cookies” for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John of Fruita, Colo.; son, Randy (Ramona) Jaeger of Silt, Colo.; two daughters, Tami (Russ) Parker and Traci (Bill) Clary both of Grand Junction, Colo.; her sister, Helen Vaughn of Holdrege Neb., seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roger and her grandson, Wesley Manchester.

Memorial services were held June 28, 2010 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Burial was in the New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, Colo.
