Santiago Pedro “Jim” Espinoza, 94, of Delta, Colo., passed away August 11, 2010 after courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on July 25, 1916 in Trinidad, Colo., to Thomas and Concepcion (Trujillo) Espinoza.

He married Antonita Sanchez on January 11, 1938 in Paonia, Colo. They were married 59 wonderful years until her death in 1997.

Jim loved to fish and camp but mostly he loved spending time with his family playing cards and other games. He was a huge Broncos fan and was not to be disturbed during a game.

He is survived by his sons, Don and Priscilla of Denver, Colo., Dan and Mary of Delta, Colo., Manuel and Glennis of Fountain Valley, Calif., Henry and Sheila of Neguanee, Mich., Bernie and Judy of Craig, Colo., and Bennie of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters, Pat and Jiro Yoshida, Betty Aragon, Matilda and Felix Trujillo, and Mary Rose and Drew Miller, all of Delta, Colo.; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his son, Louie Jim; his daughter, Connie; daughter-in-law, Lillian; son-in-law, Benji; grandsons, George Greaves and George Salas and grandson-in-law, Tim Davis.

Memorial services were held August 16, 2010 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta, Colo.

Interment was in the Delta City Cemetery in Delta, Colo.
