Western Slope Obituaries 8-31-09

Wesley “Wes” Bornschein, 74, of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away August 19, 2009 at his home.

Wes was born October 29, 1934 in Pueblo, Colo. He was the youngest child of Wesley and Bessie Bornschein. Wes met Barbara Huddleston and they were married on March 12, 1953. In 1954, they moved to Grand Junction, where they raised their six children.

After 37 years, Wes retired from Western Colorado Milk Producers. He loved to ride his horse and rope, hunt and dance. His family and friends were his greatest joy. Wes was a member of the Mesa County Sheriffs Posse, past trustee of the Eagles Lodge #595 and a member of the Moose Lodge. He worked on many charity events such as the Christmas shopping spree for children and food drives.

Wes was loved by all and will be missed.

Wes leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Barbara; children, Andy (Shauna) Bornschein of Fruita, Colo.; Alicia (Jim) Walz of Craig, Colo.; Randy (Juanita) Bornschein of Grand Junction, Colo.; Shelley Kelhi of Gillette, Wyo.; Angie Bornschein of Grand Junction, Colo.; and Danny (Anita) Bornschein of Grand Junction, Colo.; three sisters, Oradelle Matson of Ogden, Utah; Gladys Brown and Idabelle McDaniel both of Pueblo, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held August 24, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2881 Orchard Ave.
