Wiggins FFA Supper & Hired Hand Auction
The Wiggins FFA and Alumni invite you to attend their annual Steak Sandwich Supper and FFA Hired Hand Auction.
The event will take place on Friday, March 14, 2008, in the Wiggins Elementary Gym. The supper begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Hired Hand Auction at 7:00 p.m. The supper is sponsored by the Wiggins FFA Alumni Association. Steak sandwich meal tickets are $8.00 a piece and the hot dog meal is $3.00. Proceeds from this will supplement the FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund. Pre-purchase tickets from Wiggins FFA Alumni members, Wiggins FFA members, or by calling the Wiggins Agriculture Education Department at (970) 483-7762, ext. 4213. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
There are 20 FFA members, along with their advisor, Rockie Ernst, that will be auctioned off for an eight hour work day. These individuals have a wide variety of work experiences and backgrounds that could prove valuable to their “buyers”. The profits from the hired hand auction goes towards covering costs for attending state and national leadership workshops and conventions, state career development events, and various local activities. Individuals are encouraged to attend both the supper and the auction.
It’s great food and great entertainment, plus you can hire an FFA member to help you with your work! Get all those jobs done that you have been wanting to do all winter. There will also be a silent auction for a “Remington 870 ” shotgun. Bidders must be 18 years old or older. Federal guidelines will be followed before the high bidder is awarded the gun. Auction services are donated by Auctioneers Miller and Associates.
