Wyoming Beef Council

The terms for current Wyoming Beef Council (WBC) members Irv Petsch, cattle feeder, and Jim Rogers, producer of range cattle will expire June 30, 2007. Any Wyoming resident who is a producer of range cattle or cattle feeder is eligible to apply to fill these positions on the Wyoming Beef Council. The producers selected to fill these positions will be appointed by Governor Freudenthal to serve three-year terms on the governing Council.

The Wyoming Beef Council is a five-member board of beef producers who oversee the expenditure of checkoff dollars invested by Wyoming beef producers each year with the goal of increasing beef demand. Council members implement the provisions of the federal order establishing the checkoff, determine a yearly marketing plan and evaluate the effectiveness of statewide checkoff programs.

Interested producers can obtain an application and description of duties by contacting Ann Wittmann, WBC Executive Director at (307) 777-6399 before April 15. All applications are due back to the Council office by April 30.
