Wyoming Beef Council Meeting April 8 in Thermopolis

The Wyoming Beef Council will meet on April 8, 2009 at the Days Inn in Thermopolis beginning at 8 a.m. Council members will hear funding requests and determine the yearly marketing plan for fiscal year 2010. The Council will also conduct interviews with producers who have submitted applications for the vacancy for Wyoming Director to the Federation of State Beef Councils.

The Wyoming Beef Council is a five-member board of beef producers who oversee the expenditure of checkoff dollars collected in Wyoming. The council’s goal is to increase beef demand. WBC members implement the provisions of the federal order establishing the checkoff, determine a yearly marketing plan and evaluate the effectiveness of statewide checkoff programs.

This is an important meeting as council members decide the direction of the Wyoming Beef Council and Wyoming checkoff dollars for next year. All beef producers are welcome to attend the meeting.
