Boozman to release farm bill draft Tuesday

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman, R-Ark., will release a draft of the remaining parts of the farm bill on Tuesday, a spokesperson confirmed today.
Boozman has publicly stated that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which raised reference prices for Title I commodity programs and allocated more money for other farm programs, covered about 85% of the farm bill, but this bill would cover the rest.
The House passed its version of the farm bill earlier this year.
The House bill includes a provision to negate Proposition 12, which says all pork sold in California must come from animals raised under certain conditions.
However, Boozman has said that this provision, along with other controversial proposals that would prevent garnering 60 votes on the Senate floor, will not be included in his draft.
