Three more screwworm cases as Rollins criticism grows

As the number of cases of New World screwworm grew by three to 15, ranchers and farm leaders asked if Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is minimizing its importance because she has political ambitions, The Washington Post reported.  

In a separate article on a Reuters/Ipsos poll showing that farmers are losing faith in Trump, the Post quoted a rancher who said he cannot afford to hire workers to check his animals for screwworm. 

Citing an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, Newsweek also noted Trump’s approval rating with rural voters has plunged.
