November 17, 1938 – April 7, 2026

Louanne Linda Timm, 87, formerly of Grover, Colo., peacefully transitioned from this earth to heaven April 7, 2026, at Columbine Commons Health and Rehab in Windsor, Colorado.
Louanne was born November 17, 1938, in Boulder, Colo., to Marian (Wonenberg) and Cedric Hallock. During Louanne’s early childhood the family moved between Boulder, Hollywood, Calif., and Grover. The family settled west of Grover after purchasing the Elmer Reed homestead in 1951. During some of her grade school years she rode her horse to the Gerry Valley School prior to the closing of the one room schools in Weld County. She then attended Grover School (now Pawnee) graduating in 1956.
Under her name in her senior yearbook it reads, “Louanne, cute and full of pep-to keep up with her, we have to step.” She proved that to be an apt description over her lifetime. In high school she was active in several school clubs and was the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) Good Citizen her senior year. She also took part in the church Young Life group. An underclassman was able to capture her heart and she and Paul Timm were married December 14, 1958. The young bride completed her Bachelor’s degree at Colorado State College now the University of Northern Colorado and began a career in teaching. Her first position was in Greeley while Paul finished college.
The couple then moved back to the Hallock farm and ranch near Grover in 1961. For more than 20 years Louanne was an elementary teacher at Pawnee School. The couple raised a son and daughter and Grandma Lou, as she became known, cherished her grand and great grandchildren. She always had time for the four grandchildren and bravely took them on outings.
Louanne hosted countless teacher parties, card parties and family holiday dinners. She would use any excuse to invite people into their home. Hospitality and creating fun were two of her gifts.
For decades Louanne was devoted to teaching the Bible and hope of Jesus to youngsters through Vacation Bible School. She was also one of the founders of the after-school Kids Church program at the Friendship Alliance Church in Grover. If she wasn’t facilitating one of these groups, she was baking cookies and dinners for them. Her card ministry also touched many lives.
After retirement, Louanne and Paul opened the West Pawnee Ranch Bed and Breakfast in their home where they hosted hundreds of guests, many of which were bird enthusiasts. Simultaneously, Louanne was president of the Pawnee Historical Society. She devoted many hours over many years creating displays of local history and initiating fundraising to keep the Grover depot museum in the public’s eye. Louanne suffered a stroke in 2016 that took the pep in her step, but even after her stroke, family, parties and holiday dinners were on her mind, always mindful of the guest list. Health issued forced a move to town for the Timms in January of 2026, after 66 years on the prairie.
Louanne is preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law; husband Paul Timm; siblings who did not survive to toddlerhood, twins Majorie and Martin and younger sister Rosemary Hallock; sister and brothers-in-law Elona (Toni) and Ed Haskins, Frances (Fran) and Henry (Hank) Thompson, Gertrude (Gertie) and William (Bill) Holmes, (Sonny) Joe and Gladys Timm, Lillian and Boyd Bivens, sister-in-law Helen Timm, nephews Ron Bivens and Arland Timm. She is survived by son Scott (Stephanie) Timm of Grover; daughter Tanya (Jeff) Wahlert of Grover; grand and great-grandchildren Tasha (Jorge) Chacon of Dodge City, Kansas; Trent (Sierra) Timm of Laramie, Wyoming; Ross (Josi) Wahlert, Kinsey and Nellie of Grover; Owen (Shelby) Wahlert, Lucas and any day now, Stetson Paul, of Grover; brothers-in-law Verl Timm of Sterling, Colo., and Al and Dorothy Timm, Ft. Collins, Colo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place Friday, April 17, at the Home of Peace Cemetery in Grover followed by an open house from 2:30 to 5:00 at the Friendship Alliance Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pawnee Historical Society c/o 29080 CR 128, Grover, Colo., 80729.
